Want to know what Nutritional Yeast is?

I was recently looking for foods that contain B vitamins and came across Nutritional Yeast as being one as well as containing zinc and protein. Cool right? What is it? How to use it? What's it for? I'm not a vegetarian but I love my veggies for sure. So i don't always get all of my protein needs from meat sources so I love seeing what nutrients are in the array of vegetables I eat regularly.

Nutritional yeast is a food additive made from a single-celled organism, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae, which is grown on molasses and then harvested, washed, and dried with heat to kill or “deactivate” it. Because it’s inactive, it doesn’t froth or grow like baking yeast does so it has no leavening ability. Don’t worry; no animals are harmed in this process because yeasts are members of the fungi family, like mushrooms, not animals.
